Whitecaps offense continues to struggle

West Michigan drops its fifth straight game .

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The offense of the West Michigan White Caps appears to have gone M.I.A.

Following a dreadful series in which they were outscored 34-6 by Bowling Green, the team opened up a home on home series with Lansing by getting shutout 4-0 at Fifth Third Ballpark Monday night. It was the fifth straight loss for the Caps.

West Michigan was held to four hits in defeat but at least one member of the team had something to celebrate. Second basemen Kody Clemens picked up his first hit since joining the team over the weekend, going 1-3. Kody is the son of pitching great Roger Clemens.

The Whitecaps return to action Tuesday against Lansing. First pitch is at 7:05.
