Zadina returns to Griffins practice after injury

The 19-year-old suffered a lower body injury over the weekend.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH - Red Wings top pick Filip Zadina was back on the ice Tuesday morning for the Griffins, showing no signs of an injury he suffered over the weekend.

Zadina went down with what the team called a lower body injury in Grand Rapids victory over Milwaukee Saturday. He then missed the next game Sunday at Rockford.

"It felt like the worst," Zadina said Tuesday after the team's practice. "I was kind of scared it was going to be something worse than it was."

Zadina is expected to play tomorrow for the Griffins in their game against Cleveland. After that, it looks like the plan is still on to send him to the Junior World Championships where he will play for his home country, the Czech Republic.

Zadina has eight goals and 17 points in 26 games with the Griffins.
