29-year-old Sturgis man in critical condition after overnight crash

A 29-year-old Sturgis man was left critically hurt after an overnight crash in Climax Township.

CLIMAX TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Authorities in Kalamazoo County are investigating an overnight crash that left one man in critical condition.

According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 in the intersection of East R Avenue and South 46th Street.

A 29-year-old Sturgis man was driving north on South 46th Street when he was unable negotiate the turn onto East R Avenue and his vehicle went off the road and hit some trees.

The driver needed to be pulled from his vehicles and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators are not sure if speed or alcohol were a factor in the incident, but will continue to investigate.
