Average gas price in Michigan drops below $2, first time since April 2016

The last time the average gas price in Michigan was below $2 was on April 11, 2016.

MICHIGAN, USA — Gas prices in Michigan continue to go down. Statewide, the average price of a gallon of gas fell below $2 for the first time in 995 days. 

According to GasBuddy data, prices hit an average of $1.999 a gallon in Michigan at 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday. 

Michigan is now the 13th state where the average gas price has fallen below $2. The other states are Missouri, Oklahoma, Ohio, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, South Carolina, Missouri, Alabama, Kansas, Kentucky and Tennessee.
