MDOT: I-96 project on schedule

Recent rains in west Michigan did not change the schedule of the project.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Construction on I-96 will be wrapping up by mid-November.

MDOT spokesperson John Richard said, "We have a little over a month of fieldwork left this year."

I-96 will reopen and WB I-196 will be back in its normal configuration, Richard said. Recent rains in west Michigan did not change the schedule of the project.

Work will start back up in the spring on the new off-ramp from Eastbound I-96 to the Beltline.
