Rain Chances Increase

Tuesday was another hazy, hot and humid day around West Michigan with highs in the mid 80s along the lakeshore and upper 80s to around 90° inland. Grand Rapids has reached 90°-plus on eighteen days this year, seven days more than last year (eleven days) and six days more than average.

Tuesday night will be clear early followed by increasing clouds late. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s. Winds will be southwest-south at 3-6 mph.

Wednesday will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy, warm and humid with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid 80s with dew points in the 60s. Winds will be southwest-south at 5-10 mph.

Wednesday night will be cloudy and muggy. Lows will be in the upper 60s. Winds will be southeast at 6-12 mph.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy and very humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be around 80° with dew points around 70°. Winds will be east-north at 3-6 mph.

Thursday night will be mostly cloudy and muggy with showers and thunderstorms possible. Lows in the mid 60s. Winds will be north at 3-6 mph, becoming calm.

Friday will be partly sunny and a little less humid. Highs in the mid 80s with dew points in the 60s. Winds will become west at 4-8 mph.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, warm and less humid. Highs in the mid 80s with dew points around 60°.

Sunday will be sunny, very warm and a little more humid. Highs in the mid 80s with dew points in the 60s.

Monday will be mostly cloudy and very humid with showers and thunderstorms possible. Highs around 80° with dew points near 70°.

Tuesday will be partly cloudy and humid with morning showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the low 80s with dew points in the 60s.

The 6-10 Day Outlook for Mon. Aug. 20 through Fri. Aug. 24 calls for above average temperatures and above average precipitation. Average highs are around 80° with average precipitation of 0.54”.

The 8-14 Day Outlook for Wed. Aug. 22 through Tue. Aug. 28 calls for above average temperatures and near average precipitation. Average highs are around 79-80° with average precipitation of 0.80”.
