GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — More rain fell on July 4 and 5, 2022 than during the entire month of June in some areas. Most of the heavier rain fell along and south of I-96 where 1"+ amounts were common with 2 to 3'' in parts of Allegan, Kalamazoo and Ottawa counties. No severe weather occurred or was reported.
Even though the rain was welcomed and beneficial, parts of Michigan are nonetheless running a deficit since June 1.
June 2022 rainfall in Grand Rapids amount to less that 1½'', over 2½'' below average.
More rainfall is forecast through July 15 but most likely not enough to break even for the summer season.
