Thousands of Consumers Energy customers are in the dark after reported tornadoes passed through parts of West Michigan and the Grand Rapids metro.
The utility has an updated, real-time map of power outages on its website. As of 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, Kent County is the hardest hit with more than 25,000 outages.
Allegan County has at least 1,490 customers in the dark, with at least 500 people without power in Van Buren County.
"We do not have any restoration times right now because we're continuing to assess the situation," said Roger Morgenstern, a Consumers Energy spokesman.
Crews from out of state are en route to West Michigan to assist with recovery, Wyoming officials say.
Officials stress safety right now -- stay at least 25 feet away from downed power lines and call 911 or Consumers Energy at 1-800-477-5050 to report down lines.
