A warm-up is expected this week with temperatures hitting 60 degrees on Thursday. Locations along Lake Michigan will see temperatures in the 50s.
Ahead of the spring-like weather, there will be a gradual warming trend. Highs on Monday are expected to be in the mid-30s, Tuesday they will be hitting 40, and Wednesday it will be close to 50 degrees.
Scattered rain showers are supposed to hit the area on Wednesday, and there are possible thunderstorms for Thursday morning.
The warm-up won't last long though. Friday is going to be much colder with temperatures in the mid-30s.
The National Weather Service is advising Michigan residents about this thaw, saying that warmer weather and rain could result in lots of standing water.
