Trial for man accused in Muskegon Heights shooting delayed

The trial for the man accused of shooting at people outside of a Muskegon Heights Academy High School basketball game will not begin next week.

Clarence Jamichael McCaleb appears in Muskegon District Court for a preliminary hearing on Wedneaday, May 4.

The trial for the man accused of shooting at people outside of a Muskegon Heights Academy High School basketball game will not begin next week.

Clarence McCaleb, 21, appeared in court Friday, Oct. 21. He's facing three attempted murder charges.

Police say he shot at a group of students leaving the game on Feb. 9, 2016. Two people were hurt.

McCaleb, of Grand Rapids, was confronted by a Muskegon County Sheriff's Deputy. When he raised his gun, the deputy shot him.

Next weeks' trial has been adjourned, giving the prosecutor and defense attorney more time to prepare.
