Sidewalks in Grand Rapids under construction
Those driving, walking, and biking through Grand Rapids can expect to see improvements to more streets and sidewalks thanks to the voter-approved "Vital Streets Initiative." The city has inspected and repaired roughly 25% of the 870-mile sidewalk network.
