GRAND RAPIDS - Kenneth Hoskins Jr. violated his bond terms by meeting a 16-year old girl at a Grand Rapids motel, Circuit Court Judge Dennis Leiber ruled this morning.
The 16-year old is one of two alleged sexual assault victims Hoskins is facing charges for. Judge Leiber said to Hoskins Jr.:"You have to learn what 'no' means."
By being ruled in violation of the $50,000 bond, that means Hoskins Jr. must pay that amount to the court. His bond was raised to $250,000 dollars for the sexual assault charges he faces.
Hoskins is the son of Grand Rapids Board of Education member Kenneth Hoskins. Hoskins' attorney, John Beason, said the elder Hoskins, who is also a pastor is "depressed, he has a love for his son and to go through all this...he has to deal with it."
The judge ruled today after noting police recovered a high heel shoe belonging to the 16 year old at the scene of a Wyoming motel where Hoskins Jr. and the girl were discovered last week:"... which like the cinderalla story, is traced back... unfortunately for the defendant, does not have a happy ending" said Judge Leiber.
Hoskins' trial is set to start January 11.
