MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - Reality TV star, Kate Gosselin tells fans in Muskegon most of what they are reading in the tabloids is false. Gosselin is the mother of eight children. She and her husband, Jon star in the hugely popular TLC show, "Jon and Kate Plus 8."
Wednesday night, she spoke with fans at the Frauenthal Theater and signed books. 500 people paid $100 for an autograph and a few seconds of conversation. Hundreds more bought tickets to hear her talk in the auditorium.
"We think she is sassy and fun," says fan Angelia Kittel.
Kate Gosselin didn't speak with reporters or say much to her audience about recent rumors about infidelity and problems in her marriage. According to various tabloid reports, Jon is romantically linked to a 23-year-old teacher, and Kate is intimate with her bodyguard.
I try not to listen to that," says Kittel. "There are always going to be people who try to attack celebrities."
"I don't want it to be true because I don't want the show to end," says fan Alex Watters. "I want them to go on being happy and living a crazy life."
The new season of "Jon and Kate Plus 8" is scheduled to premier May 25. If nothing else, fans say all of the rumors are adding to the anticipation and providing lots of free publicity.
