Try It Before You Buy It: Fasta Pasta

Can the Fasta Pasta really help you cook pasta faster?

Do you wish to cook pasta faster?

Tired of waiting for the water to boil?

The Fasta Pasta promises to make pasta cooking faster and easier

But does it work, Let’s Try It Before You Buy It!

The Fasta Pasta comes with two simple parts, the top and the bottom bin, it’s simple and made out of plastic. It’s kind of resembles a plastic shoebox.

First up we tested it by cooking up a single serving of spaghetti. We measured our portion on the top slot then placed it inside followed by the water. After that it was easy. We put it in the microwave, set the time and whala we have pasta. Removing it from the microwave was easy, we just put on the lid to carry it over to the sink to drain it, it was all pretty simple.

We were a bit amazed that the spaghetti didn’t clump. And when we compared it to the old school pot on the stove method, it was about twenty minutes faster since we had to wait for the water to boil, plus you don’t need to stir it.

To follow it up we did two servings of pasta and with twice the amount of spaghetti it still didn’t stick or clump, the only thing we noticed is if you don’t rinse it, it will be all sticky from the starch.

For the next test we tried it out with penne, and it came out perfectly al dente.  But the cooking time was comparable to the stovetop method, so not too much fasta

And then for vegetables, we tested our normal go-to asparagus, we loaded it into the Fasta Pasta and got fasta asparagus. It was perfectly cooked. So, no complaints

Everything we tested worked, and when you compare it to regular methods, it cut down cook times since there was no preheating dragging you down.

So, the results:

The positives

  • Passed every test
  • Made spaghetti in a snap compared to stove top
  • Easy to clean

The Negatives

  • Can only cook one thing at a time
  • Must rinse pasta, it gets a bit starchy.

The Fasta Pasta passed every test we threw at it, so we rate this as a buy it!
