ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. - One person is dead after crashing his pickup truck into a tree line in Mendon Township.

Michigan State Police said the crash happened in an open field near the 26000 block of Simpson Road around 8:50 p.m.

Police don't know why 37-year-old Bradley Older, of East Leroy and Plainwell, crashed into the tree line. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities suspect a medical condition led to the crash.

One adult occupant, 25-year-old Ivan Gough, of Adrian, was in the bed of the pickup truck and was uninjured in the crash.

MSP said an autopsy has been ordered.
