Suspect at large after armed robbery on northeast side of Grand Rapids

The call came through over the scanners just after 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Police in Grand Rapids are investigating an armed robbery at Independent Bank near Plainfield and Fuller avenues on the city's northeast side.

It happened just after 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17.

The suspect used a pistol to rob the bank. He then got into a car that left heading north on Plainfield. The suspect remains at large.

Grand Rapids Police say the suspect is a black male in his late 20's to early 30's. He is between 5'8" to 6'0" tall with an athletic build. The car he left in is a 5th generation black BMW 3 series. It is a two or four door sedan made between 2004-2013. It has market alloy wheels and after market tint on the windows.

The same bank was robbed on Aug. 2, 2017 by serial robber, Jacob Abraham Savickas.
