Adopt-A-Pet: Meet Darla; Humane Society hosts Spring Break camp

This week's adopt-a-pet is Darla! She's a cute brown and white 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier.

This week's adopt-a-pet is Darla! She's a cute brown and white 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier.

Darla was surrendered by her owner, and has been with Humane Society of West Michigan since February. She would likely do well in a home with respectful children. If there are other pets in the home, Darla gets along best with male dogs.

You could get her at a discounted rate, this weekend only. The HSWM is celebrating "St. Pitties Day" by giving a Pit Bull a forever home.

Adopt a "Pit Bull" type adult dog (5 months and older) for only $100. This applies to any dog 5 months and older, that has the breed "Pit Bull Terrier" or "American Staffordshire Terrier" listed in their bio at this link.

Don't have any plans for the kiddos during Spring Break? Registration is still open for Spring Break Camp at Humane Society of West Michigan.

Each day, Spring Break Camp will focus on a different companion animal at the shelter, games, crafts, and guest speakers.

Spring Break Camp details:

  • April 2 - 5th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (after-care is available)
  • Designed for children, ages 7-12
  • $125 per camper (additional sibling discount $10 off)
  • Pre-registration required, as spaces are limited
  • Sign up at www.hswestmi.org/camps
