No one injured in Portage house fire

Units said when they arrived there was a large fire on the first floor, but it was under control within 30 minutes.

PORTAGE, Mich. — No one was injured in a Portage house fire on Sunday morning. 

According to the Portage Department of Public Safety, units were called to 605 West Van Hoesen around 6 a.m. for a possible structure fire. 

Units said when they arrived there was a large fire on the first floor, but it was under control within 30 minutes. 

The fire is still under investigation but does not appear suspicious, according to the department. 

Responders said there were no injuries to report.
