Woman killed in Cascade Road crash that involved four cars

Cascade Road is closed from Forest Hills Avenue to Hall Street because of the crash.

Four cars were involved in a crash on Cascade Road at Spaulding Avenue, according to dispatchers. The crash occurred around 3 p.m. on Jan. 2.

From the preliminary investigation, it appears that the crash was caused by Cody Willett, 21, who rear-ended his Chevy pick-up into two cars that were waiting at a red light at Spaulding Avenue. After hitting the first two cars, the truck continued, crashing into a third car.

The driver of the third vehicle, Wilma Debruin, 66, died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash.

Willett and the drivers of the other two cars received minor injuries. Alcohol and speed are not believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Both sides of Cascade Road were closed from Forest Hills Avenue to Hall Street for more than three hours because of the crash. Police opened the road back up around 6:30 p.m.
