A local brewery has announced its next ArtPrize beer.

Grand Rapids-based Founders Brewing Co. said today it will release Green Zebra, a watermelon gose-style ale, in six-packs of cans.

The beer will be on tap in the taproom Aug. 15 and on shelves in mid-August.

“ArtPrize is one of the most well-attended public art events in the world, and we are proud to continue our support,” Founders Co-Founder and President Dave Engbers said. “We love playing with expectations when it comes to brewing our ArtPrize beers, and Green Zebra is the perfect example of that.”

A gose is a German-style beer made with sea salt and results in slight sour and sweet notes, almost like lemonade.

Green Zebra clocks in at 4.6 percent ABV.
