WYOMING, Mich. — A structure fire in Wyoming Tuesday evening damaged multiple apartments.

The Wyoming Fire Department responded to the apartments, located in the 2800 block of Taft Avenue SW, at around 7:10 p.m. Upon arrival, responding crews found two apartments engulfed in flames.

According to the Wyoming Department of Public Safety (WDPS), crews were able to extinguish the fire and all occupants of the apartment building were able to escape.

However, several apartments did have to be vacated due to loss of power. WDPS said it is working with the Red Cross to provide shelter for those displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, along with the estimated value of the damage. At this time, the cause does not appear to be suspicious.
