HOLLAND, Michigan — Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a car crashed into a building Friday morning in Holland Township.

The incident happened around 8 a.m. in the area of Butternut Drive and Riley Street.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 38-year-old Holland man was driving south on Butternut Drive when his car left the roadway and struck a building on the corner of the intersection. Authorities believe the driver suffered a medical emergency prior to the collision.

The driver did not sustain any injuries from the crash, but he was taken to a local hospital.

The building has minor damage but there are no structural concerns, according to the sheriff’s office.
