Glenkerry Golf Course in Greenville promises "affordable excellence” and that applies to everything from course conditions to customer service, all at a great price. General Manager AJ Bongiovanni joined us to talk about the Glenkerry experience. "The course provides a fair challenge for every level of golfer, with five sets of tee boxes for players to chose from," said Bongiovanni. "With all of the tall fescue and heather that acts as the course's main defense, finding the fairway is a must to card a good score. Glenkerry also provides the player with some of the finest greens in all of west Michigan." The course offers several membership options for customers to chose from as well as a busy schedule of outings, events and leagues.
As far as amenities, there are a couple that are especially fun, GPS golf carts and food and beverage delivery on the course. Bongiovanni said there is also food available in the club house and a banquet/outdoor rental space for special events.
Bongiovanni said one of the fun activities they offer members is the Glenkerry Cup Series, a five event series throughout the year with different formats (two-person scramble, four-person scramble, two big holes and a one-person scramble). It's a season long points race, and individual players accumulate points for every event they play in based on where they finish.
Bongiovanni said Glenkerry is one of the few courses in West Michigan that provide a Glowball experience. He explained the back nine is set up with different colored LED lights to indicate greens, fairways, hazards etc. and each player is provided with a LED glow-in-the-dark golf ball.
