GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you're looking for things to do in the Muskegon area this November, look no further!

Andy O’Riley from Positively Muskegon gives a rundown of all kinds of events coming to the area that you don’t want to miss!

November 2

The Mona Shores Holiday Arts and Crafts Show is happening from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.  It’s the 40th anniversary of this legendary event.  Every space you can imagine inside Mona Shores High School is filled with hand made custom items and unique gifts. Come early, make a day of it and enjoy the early season feel at Mona Shores.

West Michigan Lake Hawks Professional Basketball team kicks off their season at Muskegon High School at 5 p.m.  They're part of the ABA North Central Basketball League and they play through March.  Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.  You can get a season pass to see all the games for only $90  Learn more at lakehawksbasketball.com

November 8

The West Michigan Symphony Presents Beethoven in Blue jeans!!  Who says you have to be a stuffed shirt to enjoy the symphony! Come on out to the historic Frauenthal and see Scott Speck conduct an evening of fun minus the snobbery.  The piano duties will be handled by Charlie Albright and of course, Beethoven’s 5th will be played!  Get tickets at frauenthal.org

November 15 & 16

Visit the Mad Scientists Escape Room at the Lakeshore Museum Center.  It’s a 60 minute challenge to see if you and your team can escape the challenges set forth by the team of crack pros at the museum.  It’s a fun way complete a task and see how you fare.  $20 for a team and if you’re a museum member you can get a discount.  3 sessions a day.  Find out more on tickets on Eventbrite.

November 21

There’s going to be a world record attempt at Mercy Health Arena.  They're going to attempt to collect 100,000 canned goods that will be immediately dispersed to area food banks.  It’s also a fundraiser to help end childhood cancer and make sure that on Thanksgiving no one goes hungry.  

November 30 

Holiday tours at the Hackley and Hume Homes get underway.  See how the Lumber barons enjoyed the holidays as their homes are beautifully decorated in the décor of the era.  The Hackley and Hume Homes are part of the Lakeshore Museum Center and really an amazing way to work your way into December.
