Restaurant Week in Grand Rapids kicks off August 10. This year's theme is "taste the city". Restaurants in the area are putting the final touches on their menu items for the occasion. 

Restaurant Week in Grand Rapids kicks off August 10. This year's theme is "taste the city". Restaurants in the area are putting the final touches on their menu items for the occasion.

Executive Chef Chris Madsen from Six. One. Six stopped by WZZM 13 to show off the meal the restaurant plans to prepare for the upcoming event. He demonstrates part of the second course meal which includes:

  • Seared Lake Trout, Marble Potatoes, Green Beans and Local Sweet Corn Sauce
  • Pappardelle with Local Mushrooms, Braised Greens, Shaved Asiago and Lemon Butter
  • Grilled Otto's Chicken with Celeriac-Potato Puree, Roasted Beets and Caramelized Onion Jus

More on Restaurant Week:

Restaurants will provide 3-course meals for $28. $1 from Restaurant Week meals sold during this year's event will be donated to the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education Student Scholarship Fund at the Grand Rapids Community College.
