City Barbeque to hold grand opening in Kentwood Saturday

The grand opening will feature face painters and a free photo booth, and 10% of sales will go back to Kids Food Basket.

KENTWOOD, Mich. - City Barbeque in Kentwood will hold an official grand opening in Kentwood on Saturday. 

The grand opening will feature face painters and a free photo booth, and 10% of sales will go back to Kids Food Basket

All of the meats in the restaurant are smoked in-house.

"We truly believe in backyard hospitality," said General Manager Kelly Carter. "We want people to feel like they just came into your backyard to have your own barbeque."

The menu includes ribs, turkey, pulled half chicken, brisket, pork and sausage. They also have collard greens, baked beans, green beans, corn bread and potato salad. 

The restaurant is located at 3050 28th Street in Kentwood. The grand opening begins at 10:30 a.m.

The restaurant chain has been around for 20 years, but this will be the first location in the state of Michigan. There will be a restaurant coming to Troy in a few weeks.
