Chevrolet recalls 112,000 Trax for faulty suspension that could lead to crash

According to Consumer Reports, an improperly welded part could fail and lead to a crash.

Thousands of Chevrolet Trax are being recalled because a faulty part could cause a crash.

Nearly 113,000 Chevy Trax from the model years 2017 through 2019 are being recalled, according to Consumer Reports

A part of the front suspension may have been welded improperly and officials say if the weld fails, one of the compact SUV's front wheels may turn itself slightly outward and could lead to a crash.

Chevrolet says it is unaware of any crashes related to the recall.

Dealers will inspect the front control arms and replace them for free, if necessary. Chevrolet will contact owners of affected vehicles, but if you have questions you can call customer service at 1-800-222-1020.

To check and see whether your vehicle has an open recall, visit the NHTSA website.
