MUSKEGON, Mich. — Funeral arrangements for a Muskegon mom who was killed in a car crash last week have been announced.

Searra Lucas, 24, was killed on Wednesday, April 10 in a crash with a semi-truck off Apple Avenue. She had been reportedly going to the E & A Grocery to get drinks for her children when she collided with a semi-truck.

Searra was originally born in Virginia, then moved to Colorado where she graduated high school. She married her husband Donald Lucas in 2019. They had three children under the age of 5.

Now, Lucas is being remembered as a loving mother and friend.

"If she had it, she would give it," said Searra's mother, Jamie Maynard. "She'd give the shirt off her back if she had it to give. Her kids were her world. Her husband was her world. There's nothing that she wouldn't do for them."

Maynard said any photos and keepsakes of Searra's will be eventually given to her children.

"Memories of their mommy are going to fade," she said. "The only thing they're gonna have are the stories we tell them, the pictures we show them, how beautiful and loving and caring she was, and how much I know she wishes she could be there for them."

Searra is survived by her parents, siblings, her husband and their three children, in addition to lifelong friends. A GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched to help support her family during this time. Over $9,000 has currently been raised.

Her funeral will be held Friday, April 19 at Clock Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. To read her full obituary or share a memory of her, click here.
