Muskegon Heights shooting leaves two men injured

Muskegon Heights police, fire department and Trinity Health EMS all responded to the scene. Police arrived first and were told that a 36-year-old man had been shot.

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. Muskegon Heights Police responded to a residence in the 3100 block of Temple for an unknown problem. Officials said a woman called dispatch from the home asking for an ambulance but hung up before dispatch could ask any further questions.

Muskegon Heights police, fire department and Trinity Health EMS all responded to the scene. Police arrived first and were told that a 36-year-old man had been shot and was inside the home. Additional units were called to secure the scene. Police were still on scene at 4:50 when a call came in that a 19-year-old man had arrived at Trinity Health Mercy Campus for a gunshot wound.

Police investigated and determined the 19-year-old was connected to the shooting in the 3100 block of Temple. Neither victim had life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
