Single-engine plane involved in minor crash at Ottawa Executive Airport

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the pilot was not injured in the incident.

ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A single-engine plane was involved in a minor crash landing at Ottawa Executive Airport Sunday afternoon.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the plane was circling the airport because its front landing gear was not responding.

The plane eventually landed safely on its functional rear landing gear and the pilot, a 56-year-old man from Zeeland Township, kept the nose of the plane up as long as he could before the front end touched down.

The pilot was not injured in the incident.

The plane being used was a 1990 Glass Air single prop and had some minor to moderate damage to its nose area.

The incident remains under investigation by OCSO and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
