MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Adelaide Pointe Marina on Muskegon Lake had its grand opening on Wednesday.

The marina offers numerous amenities, including restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a captain's lounge, a pool and an outdoor kitchen.

Adelaide Pointe also announced that it's donating office space to the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department and its marine patrol unit.

There are more than 60 transient slips in the marina for boaters across the region. Founders said they hope this will boost tourism within the Muskegon community.

"Our priority at Adelaide Pointe has always been to provide top-notch services to boaters while ensuring the seamless integration of public access to this stunning site," said Ryan Leestma, owner and founder of Adelaide Pointe. "We are thrilled to finally open our doors and welcome boating enthusiasts from near and far to experience the beauty of Muskegon Lake."

A schedule of summer events being held at the marina was also released:

  • June 21-22: West Michigan Offshore Adelaide Pointe Power Boat Weekend
  • July 25-28: Adelaide Pointe Pro-Am Fishing Tournament
  • Aug. 13: Adelaide Day
  • Aug. 16-17: Muskegon Boat Life Adelaide Pointe Boat Show
