ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — A man was killed Tuesday evening after losing control of his vehicle and crashing along 134th Avenue in Allegan County.

Police say the crash happened around 7 p.m. near 42nd Street in Heath Township. A Toyota SUV was traveling eastbound when the driver, a 49-year-old Hamilton man, lost control. The SUV ran off the road, overturned and hit a fence.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police say it appears the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

This crash remains under investigation.
