Coast Guard Station Grand Haven kicks off National Safe Boating Week

The station will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. - Coast Guard Station Grand Haven is kicking off National Safe Boating Week with an open house.

Community members can stop by the station between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday to tour the station and boats, as well as speak with members of the Coast Guard about safe boating.

Members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will also be in attendance to help size life jackets and schedule dockside vessel safety checks.

National Safe Boating Week runs from May 18-24 and promotes boating and water safety, as well as the value of wearing a life jacket.
