2 injured in Grand Rapids rollover crash

Police say a Kia Sorento had been traveling northbound when the driver lost control, crossed over the southbound lanes and crashed.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Two people were injured Sunday night, one seriously, after a rollover crash in Grand Rapids.

The crash happened around 11:50 p.m. in the 2400 block of E Beltline Avenue SE. Police say a Kia Sorento had been traveling northbound when the driver lost control, crossed over the southbound lanes and crashed. The car rolled multiple times.

The driver was ejected and sustained serious injuries. A passenger was also injured, although the extent of their injuries is unclear.

The driver and passenger were both taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
