HOLLAND, Mich. — The City of Holland announced they'll be breaking the ice—or, breaking ground—on the Holland Ice Park on Tuesday, April 23.

The groundbreaking will take place at 3 p.m. at Window on the Waterfront Park. The public is welcome to attend.

The new park was initially the vision of retired educator Frank Kraai. Using his vision and donation, the project's implementation was launched.

The project quickly gained momentum thanks to further donations, turning Kraai's dream into a reality.

While planning the Ice Park, the city hosted multiple listening sessions with the community to ensure the space is inclusive for all and can be enjoyed as a year-round park for residents and visitors alike.
