Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to be keynote speaker at Tulip Time luncheon

The luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Governor Gretchen Whitmer will be delivering the keynote address at this year's Tulip Time Festival luncheon, organizers announced Monday.

This will be Whitmer's first luncheon as the governor of the state of Michigan.

“We are honored to host Governor Whitmer and other dignified attendees at this year’s Luncheon and the 90th Anniversary celebration of Tulip Time,” said Gwen Auwerda, Tulip Time’s Executive Director.

Officials expect over 900 attendees at the luncheon, including a mix of Tulip Time stakeholders, donors, local business leaders, as well as federal, state and local legislators.

Those attending the luncheon are encouraged to wear something orange in recognition of this year's 90th anniversary theme, "Paint the Town Orange." The theme serves as a symbol of cultural celebration and unity among the community.

The luncheon is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the DeVos Fieldhouse. Tickets are $75 per person and are available for purchase online or by calling the Tulip Time Festival office at (616) 396-4221.
