A man whose voice was heard on the lakeshore for more than six decades has died.

A man whose voice was heard on the lakeshore for more than six decades has died.

Julius Van Oss, known as Juke on WHTC radio in Holland, passed away Monday morning.

WZZM profiled Van Oss back in 2011 as he celebrated his 60th anniversary as a talk show host. Back then, he told us he loved delivering the news, connecting with his community, and staying on top of current events.

"It's been a nice adventure I would say; I've had so many things happen to me in broadcasting," he said. "It's been nice, really nice."

WHTC says Juke's final broadcast was last Friday.

He was 92.
