John Ball Zoo is hiring. Here's what's available

The zoo hired more than 400 people last year for seasonal positions.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Looking for a new adventure this spring and summer? John Ball Zoo may have what you need.

The zoo is hosting a hiring event for a variety of positions, all jobs that help preserve wildlife and wild places, staff say.

Hiring events are scheduled for Feb. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Feb. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. and an 18+ only crew is invited on Feb. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will all take place at the zoo.

Seasonal positions will be available for admissions, the education department, food and beverage, retail and venue staff and more. Their most popular season is from March through November.

The zoo hired more than 400 people last year for seasonal positions. Team members will receive a zoo membership, free bus passes and lunches, tickets to special events, flexible scheduling and professional development opportunities, staff say.

“Jobs at John Ball Zoo are an exciting opportunity to be a part of saving wildlife, educating our community and providing our guests with fun, friendly and engaging experiences they will remember for years to come,” said Lisa Zimmerman, human resources generalist at John Ball Zoo. “A wide range of positions are available, so we encourage everyone interested to join us at one of these events.”

On-site interviews will be available. Giveaways, prizes and refreshments will be offered. Applicants can also apply on the John Ball Zoo's website here
