WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. — A Flushing man has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor stalking for allegedly stalking Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and her wife, Plymouth City Commissioner Alana Maguire.

Around 8:35 a.m. on March 5, Plymouth police officers were dispatched to Nessel's home in Plymouth for reports of a man sitting on her front porch.

Christopher Dean Baldwin, 40, had allegedly rang the doorbell of Nessel's home and sat on her front porch. When they arrived at her home, officers arrested him.

It's alleged Baldwin has attempted to make unwanted contact with Nessel before.

On March 4, Baldwin came to a Plymouth commission meeting in Plymouth Township where Maguire was in attendance.

"The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office will always take any and all threats against public officials very seriously," said Prosecutor Kym Worthy. "This simply will not be tolerated. Unfortunately, in today's climate threats to elected and other officials have become normalized. Not by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, ever."

Baldwin was arraigned on March 8 in the 35th District Court and given a $100,000/10% bond with a GPS tether. He's also been ordered to have no contact with Nessel or Maguire, no controlled substances or alcohol and to surrender all firearms.

A pre-trial is scheduled for March 15 at 9 a.m.
