1 pedestrian dead after crash in Wyoming

The driver stayed on scene to speak with investigators and police said alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time.

WYOMING, Mich. — A pedestrian is dead following a crash on Thursday evening. 

According to the Wyoming Department of Public Safety, officials responded to the 2100 block of Clyde Park Avenue around 8 p.m. for a report of a crash between a car and a pedestrian. 

The pedestrian, a 53-year-old man, died at the scene, according to the department. 

Officials said the initial investigation shows the man was standing in the roadway when he was hit by a car traveling southbound on Clyde Park Avenue. 

The driver stayed on scene to speak with investigators and police said alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time. 

The crash is currently being investigated by the Wyoming Police Accident Investigation and Forensic Science Units.
