CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. is voluntarily recalling a variety of salad kits due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children and the elderly. Symptoms can include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
The salad kits that were recalled were distributed in Michigan and several other states in the Midwest and across the country.
