GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — Senita Lenear, a candidate for Grand Rapids mayor, wants to hear from you in her upcoming "Neighborhood Connections" gatherings.

The two-term former 3rd Ward City Commissioner is hoping to hear stories from residents, businesses, nonprofits and others to help shape priorities for her candidacy.

Lenear is one of four candidates who filed petitions for the vacancy. Current Mayor Rosalynn Bliss, who was first elected in 2016, will be finishing her term on Dec. 31, 2024.

“Neighborhood by neighborhood I want to continue engaging the citizens of Grand Rapids to hear what is on their hearts and minds for the City’s future. I have heard stories from residents, businesses, non-profits and other public institutions over the past 5 months, since announcing my candidacy, and this feedback is helping me to shape the priorities I will bring as mayor. The public is invited to join me at these Neighborhood Connections at a time that is convenient for them, please check out the schedule and locations and meet me there,” said Lenear.

Before her time as a city commissioner, Lenear served on the Grand Rapids Public School Board. This included two years as president. She's also the co-owner and operator of Genesis Consulting Group, an event planning and business consulting firm in the Alger Heights area.
