SpartanNash offering 'Fast Lane' grocery pickup at Family Fare stores

Another West Michigan grocery chain is making it easier to shop without doing it yourself.

Another West Michigan grocery chain is making it easier to shop without doing it yourself.

SpartanNash is offering a service called the "Fast Lane."

Orders are place online and shopped by a team of personal shoppers. Customers can specify exactly what they want like green bananas or thick-sliced ham. The order is then picked up curbside.

There are three options to get the service: Annual memberships are $99 per year and monthly memberships are $16.95 per month. Individual orders can be placed for a $9.95.

SpartanNash says the personal shoppers are Family Fare associates, allowing the company to own the experience from start to finish and enabling personal shoppers to build relationships with Fast Lane customers.

All orders placed at familyfarefastlane.com before 3 p.m. will be available for same-day pickup.

Store guests with yes loyalty accounts – and repeat Fast Lane shoppers – will automatically have their preferences loaded into their Fast Lane account, making it even easier to select commonly purchased items.

SpartanNash says the idea behind it is to make the shopping experience more personalized and convenient.

To celebrate the launch of the service, SpartanNash will waive the pickup fee for customers' first three orders using the code "FASTLANE."

Right now, the service is available at the Grandville Family Fare, with more stores being added soon.
