Family holds vigil for Cassandra Casares one month after she was killed in Holland shooting

It's been one month since friends and family of Cassandra Casares have seen her smile, or have seen the love she showed her children.

HOLLAND, Mich. — It's been one month since the shooting death of Cassandra Casares. One month since friends and family have seen her smile, or have seen the love she showed for her children.

"It was just us coming together just sharing stories and remembering Cassandra," said a friend who did not want to be identified.

"She was a mother of two. She was  crazy, spunky, fun, and happy. Always the life of the party kind of woman and she definitely brought that side out of all of us," said Cassandra's friend.

On November 6, Cassandra was outside of Moran Park Church with her Cousin when two cars pulled into the parking lot. After an argument-- shots were fired-- killing Cassandra and injuring her cousin.

Police are still looking for the suspect, 27-year-old Ranses Avimael Velasco Sabaria.

Though the family is still looking for justice. Wednesday's vigil was focused more on who Cassandra was: a mother, daughter and friend.

"Obviously very sad but I mean, we're all just trying to get through this as best we can, you know, trying to stay together all of us you know, support her friends and her family everybody you know just try to stay there for each other."
