Police searching for suspects after 2 injured in shooting at Wyoming Walmart

Both victims are expected to survive. Police say two suspects are still at large, and anyone with information is asked to contact police or Silent Observer.

WYOMING, Mich. — Two people were injured in a shooting at a Walmart on Sunday, according to the Wyoming Police Department.

Police responded around 6 p.m. to several calls about a shooting at the Walmart at 355 54th Street SW in Wyoming.

Police said the shooting took place after an altercation between two suspects and one male victim, who was shot but does not have life-threatening injuries.

The victim arrived at the hospital several minutes after the shooting happened and police had begun investigating, officers said.

The second victim, a woman, was not a target in the shooting, according to police. Her injuries are not life-threatening and she's receiving medical treatment at the hospital, police said.

Officers said there are two suspects and the shooting happened at the front of the store near the checkout lines. At least 10 rounds were fired, police said.

At the time of the shooting, the store was full and was evacuated. The store will remain closed for the night.

The two suspects have not been found yet. Police said one of the suspects was wearing a black, parka-style winter coat with fur around the collar, a red sweatshirt and dark pants. The second suspect was wearing light-colored pants and a black sweatshirt.

Police said both suspects were wearing masks, so pictures aren't available at this time.

"It is scary, it's frightening," said Lieutenant Andrew Koeller of the Wyoming Police Department. "But, I want the public to know that all of our resources are in, working on this."

The police encouraged anyone who has any information on the shooting to come forward.

"Anyone who has even the smallest bit of information could help us solve this," Koeller said.
