An earthquake shook the Coachella Valley Sunday afternoon.
The 3.9 magnitude temblor, which hit at 5:46 p.m., was centered just inside Joshua Tree National Park, or more than 8 miles north-northeast of Thousand Palms, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It had a reported depth of nearly 5 miles.
The quake shook a large swath of Southern California. People from San Diego to Montclair to Twentynine Palms reported feeling it, according to the USGS's website.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
