MI PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY | When is Election Day?

There's three ways to vote in the 2024 presidential primary: Voting in-person on Election Day, early in-person voting during early voting dates, and voting absentee.

LANSING, Mich. — In February, Michiganders will head to the polls to cast their ballot for the 2024 presidential primary.

The election takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 27. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. You must be in line by 8 p.m. to vote.

Your polling place can be found on the Michigan government's website. You can either search by voter information, driver's license number, address or county.

In order to vote in the 2024 Michigan presidential primary you will need to be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, a resident of Michigan, and not currently serving a jail or prison sentence.

You do not need a photo ID to vote. If you do not have an ID or forgot it, you will be asked to sign an affidavit saying you are not in possession of a photo ID.

In Michigan, it is prohibited to display any election-related materials within 100 feet of the entrance to a polling location.
