This week's Meijer Scholar Athlete is Braddock King

The Red Arrow says the key to being a good student athlete is to try your best in everything you can.

LOWELL, Mich. — This week's Meijer Scholar Athlete of the week comes from a program that knows all about success on the wrestling mat, but he also goes above and beyond in the classroom.

Lowell High School junior wrestler Braddock King has a few state championships under his belt in the 113 pound weight class.

He is also a football and lacrosse player for the Red Arrows.

As impressive as King is in sports, he is perhaps even more spectacular when hitting the books. He has a 3.9 GPA and is in the schools national honor society.

The Red Arrow says the key to being a good student athlete is to try your best in everything you can.

"I'd say you want to put in the extra work in the classroom and outside of the classroom," King said. "Like after practice, I try and do other things to help me for sports. Then I will go home and do the homework I need to do. I always ask questions in school and study when needed."

King's goal is to wrestle in college. But wherever he goes to school, he hopes to study physical therapy.
