DETROIT — The Detroit Lions unveiled their new threads for the 2024 NFL season, bringing back an old favorite with an updated look.
The new jerseys were revealed at Ford Field Thursday night at an exclusive event.
"Honolulu Blue and Silver has defined the Detroit Lions for generations and I am proud that we found a way to continue to evolve the look with a nod to the past and a focus on the future. The traditional look of our primary jerseys combined with the bold attitude of our alternate jerseys capture the essence of Detroit and the multi-generational fans base that supports us," said Detroit Lions President & CEO, Rod Wood.
The Lions said they worked with Nike to "reestablish Honolulu Blue" by giving it a richer tone that is a throwback to earlier uniforms. The new uniforms also feature a "true silver" color on outlines and stripes.
But the biggest announcement was the return of the black alternate uniforms, a look that the Lions haven't used since the mid-2000s.
These new black uniforms also feature a brand new helmet design that includes a black lion outlined in silver on the new Honolulu Blue background. The new helmets are the most unique design the Lions have used in the Super Bowl era.

The reimagining of Detroit's uniforms took inspiration from the Ford Bronco and Mustang.
"Ford and the Lions have a rich, shared history grounded in Detroit heritage," said Lisa Materazzo, global chief marketing officer, Ford Motor Company. "We're proud that the Ford Bronco and the iconic Mustang served as inspiration for elements of their new uniforms and excited to see the Lions when they proudly represent Detroit in Ford Field and celebrate our shared passion for football."
