Western Michigan baseball wins MAC Tournament title

The Broncos are headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016.

AVON, Ohio — The Western Michigan baseball team took down Ball State on Saturday night to win the MAC Tournament title. It's the Broncos first conference championship since 2016.

The Broncos will now head to the NCAA Tournament for the 13th time in program history. WMU outscored its opponents 19-3 during its 3-0 run during tournament. 

Caledonia grad Luke Thelen was on the mound to finish things off in the 9th. During the game Cade Sullivan got his 85th hit of the year, setting a new program record. 

Western Michigan will find out where it will head for the tournament during the selection show which is set for noon on Monday.
